A boy, only eight years old, saved his dad’s life by working an impossible jack to lift up the car that fell onto him. After the incident, he said that “angels” had helped him do it.
JT Parker had been helping out his dad, Stephen, to fix a Toyota Prius that they had in their home’s garage in the town of Sugar City, Idaho, and as they removed the wheel’s axels, the car slipped from the jack holding it up, and crushed the father, leaving him unable to properly breathe. Parker’s older son, 17 years old, had already gone inside of their house, and his wife had gone out to pick up relatives during the time of the accident.
However, JT, who only weighs 50 lbs at most, managed to operate the complex jack and lift up the vehicle from atop his father’s chest.
Parker said to reporters: “I yelled to JT on the other side of the car, ‘Jack it up quick! Jack it up quick!’”
“I couldn’t move at all. I was totally trapped, and then I passed out. It was all in his hands, and I thought, ‘This is it. There’s no way he can jack up this car because it took my 17-year-old son and I both to jack it up the first time.”
JT said of the incident to EastIdahoNews.com: “It was scary, and I didn’t think that I could jack the car up, but I just kept on trying.”
After only 15 minutes, the young boy managed to pull up the car high enough off of his father.
Parker was the flown to a hospital via helicopter , where they discovered he had 13 broken ribs as a result of the crushing.
“It was just a miracle,” Parker said.
After the events, Parker got his son to attempt to jack up the car yet again, but the small boy was unable to gather enough strength.
When asked how the little boy was able to manage it, JT simply said: “Angels”.
“We believe my grandpa, who passed on, and my sister who died were helping him,” Parker added.
