Fight is ready for ground troops in Syria against IS: Saudi Arabia

With air strikes alone, the ‘Islamic State’ is not to defeat – so the wide assessment. So far, no State but was ready to send ground troops to Syria. Other signals coming from Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia is willing to take part in a ground offensive in Syria. Should the US-led Alliance launch such an operation, the Kingdom was prepared, Brigadier General Ahmed Asseri said in an interview with the television channel Al Arabiya. According to Asseri, Saudi Arabia has conducted more than 190 air operations against the Islamic State. To win the fight against the Islamic State, the coalition must combine air strikes with ground operations, Asseri said.
