Paris and Los Angeles Win Olympic Bid

Paris and Los Angeles have both been announced as hosts for the 2024 and 2028 summer Olympic Games by the International Olympic Committee.

Only Cities In Contention

The two cities had indicated interest to host the event in 2024 before Los Angeles agreed to host the event in 2028 after the International Olympic Committee guaranteed them of funding.

The Paris Games has failed in their bids to host the games 2008 and 2012 and this games will mark 100 years since the game was last hosted in the capital city of France.

Los Angeles last hosted the event in 1984

Paris and Los Angeles were the only cities in the race for the hosting rights of the 2024 Games after Rome, Hamburg, and Budapest withdrew their bids.

The International Olympic committee had earlier revealed that they would announce the host for both the 2024 and 2028 Games this year.

Los Angeles had pushed to host the game in 2024 because of their readiness and state of their facilities. But Paris made a stronger case by stating that the venues for the events will not be available for revamping after 2024.

This is also great news for Paris has they have been faced with numerous attacks in the last few years and this would serve as a unifying factor for the entire city.
