Real Madrid legend, Hugo Sanchez, is of the opinion that Colombia winger James Rodriguez did not have what he needed to survive in Madrid.
James called it quit on his time in Madrid with a move to Bayern Munich on Tuesday on a loan deal that could also lead to a permanent move.
He fell down the pecking order at Real Madrid under Zinedine Zidane and started only 13 League games for the club as they won the trophy for the first time in 5 years.
This move means James will play under Carlo Ancelotti again but Hugo Sanchez is obviously not impressed with James.
“James had to show Zidane that he could trust him on the pitch at all times and he didn’t show that,” Sanchez said Radio MARCA.
“He was just not hard enough to withstand the pressure in Real Madrid and that’s what is required at a club of that magnitude.”
Morata needs to stay
Sanchez also revealed that he would like Madrid to keep Alvaro Morata beyond this season as there are speculations that he could leave this summer.
There were reports of a move to Manchester United for Morata but the deal fell through as the English club signed Romelu Lukaku instead. Chelsea are also on his radar as they are currently searching for a new striker to replace outcast, Diego Costa this summer.
