Spanish Formula One driver, Fernando Alonso, has stated that he will not be taking a gamble on his career when it comes to where he will be driving next season and expects to see some available seats in other teams next season.
Fernando Alonso, who is a two-time world champion with McClaren, will have to make a decision on his career as his contract with the team is set to end at the end of this season and Fernando who won his last race four years ago and has revealed that he wants to get back to winning ways.
Alonso revealed in an interview with Sky Sports that he has endured three years of failures with both Honda and McLaren and will like to take his time before moving to a new team in 2018.
“I have said it a lot of times that I want to get back to winning ways net season and I don’t need to take a gamble to make this happen. I will go where it is safe and guaranteed that I can be successful as a driver.”
“I am open to anything but I will have to wait and see what McClaren has in store for me because I like this team and we have worked hard together in the last few years. Let’s just see how everything goes.
A move to Mercedes?
There are rumours that he could move to Mercedes but Lewis Hamilton is still a part of the team and there are no reports that he will be dropped when his contract expires at the end of this season.
However, Alonso has revealed that he will make a decision on his future in August and he could still decide to stay out at McClaren when the season is over.
