Just after giving birth in June, Beyonce has released her first single and the video – a remix to ‘Mi Gente,’ a hit by track J Bavin and Willy William. Beyonce declared that returns from the track would go a long way in helping current relief efforts in the Caribbean Islands and Puerto Rico – areas affected by Hurricane Irma, and Mexican areas where the 7.1 magnitude earthquake had much impact.
The star singer wrote on social media with a link to other outreach efforts across the world that she’ll be donating her proceeds to the areas above.
Beyonce’s Spanish doings
The remix to Mi Gente isn’t Beyonce’s first Spanish track. It could be recalled that she dropped a Spanish-language song in 2016, a nice cover for Irreplaceable.
The fun-filled video showed Cristiano Ronaldo, his children, Steve Aoki, and Diplo. It seems Blue Ivy Carter showed up, responding to her famous mama song.
More are coming to the relief efforts
Just some hours ago, Tidal, Jay-Z’s streaming service declared to give needed supplies to Puerto Rico. A cargo plane will convey 200,000 pounds of portable lanterns, flashlights, batteries, baby wipes, diapers and feminine hygiene products to the affected in Puerto Rico.
Tidal also urged its users to donate unopened products to 19 destinations in New York for subsequent deliveries. Tidal will organize a benefit show on Oct. 17 to raise funds to help those affected by Hurricane Maria, earthquake and Hurricane Harvey. The show will feature performances from Yo Gotti, Jennifer Lopez, Fat Joe, Iggy Azalea, Chris Brown, Jay-Z, Daddy Yankee, Remy Ma, Cardi B, Willow Smith, and Fifth Harmony.
The storm has rendered most of the 3.4 million individuals in the U.S and Carribean Islan homeless, and without electricity. Residents need drinking water, fuel, and food. Hospital struggle to function and cell service is scarce.
