Rihanna Produces 30th Song To Reach Number 1 On Billboard’s Dance Chart

The pop singer’s hit new song, “Pose”, is the latest in her repertoire to hit number 1 on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart

Dance Club Songs chart has been in existence since August 28th, 1976, and has charted the progression of hundreds of artists – although only one has consistently remained top of the charts.

Madonna holds the honor of having 46 leaders – the most number one hit songs in the chart’s history. Rihanna is fast gaining behind her, having been honored as the Number 3 Dance Club Artist last year.

“Pose” is Rihanna’s third hit of 2017, following “Love on the Brain” and “Sex With Me”. The track was remixed by Country Club Martini Crew, the Perry Twins, and Alex Acosta, among others.

The song is also the sixth leading song from Rihanna’s immensely popular album ANTI, following “Work”, “Kiss It Better”, “Needed Me”, “Love on the Brain”, and “Sex With Me”.

During the same period, she also featured on Calvin Harris’ “This Is What You Came For”, which had a two week reign towards becoming the number one song of 2016.

Rihanna has been the first artist to have six songs reach number 1 since Katy Perry had seven songs from her 2010-2012 edition of “Teenage Dream”:

Justin Bieber also hitting top of the charts

On the Dance Club Songs chart, Madonna and Rihanna are followed b Beyonce, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Katy Perry, Kristine W, Jennifer Lopez, Donna Summer, Dave Aude, Enrique Iglesias, Lady Gaga, and Pitbull.

Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Latin Songs both have “Despacito”, by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee featuring Justin Bieber, as the number one.

Bieber previously led with “Sorry”, “What Do You Mean”, and “As Long as You Love Me”, between 2012-2016.
