Kim Kardashian West recently recounted the events that unfolded on the night of her Paris robbery in October. The incident saw masked men breaking into her hotel room in Paris, tying her hands behind her back, holding her up at gunpoint, and stealing millions worth of jewelry.
Kris Jenner, matriarch and executive producer of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, stated that she was unable to finish the episode herself.
“I was watching it and I was balling — balling when I saw it,” said the reality star, 61-year-old, eyes filled with tears on The Ellen Show. “And I just saw some of it. I couldn’t even watch the whole thing it was so upsetting. It was such an upsetting time and something so awful happened to somebody you love so much. And it’s just like — ugh — it chokes me up every time to think about it.”
She added, “No one can get through the first few minutes without getting hysterical.”
The Pivotal Scene
Jenner also explained how the scene won’t air until the later half of the E! show’s 13th season.
However, she also mentioned that coming back to film the show was therapeutic for Kim, and helped her heal after the “devastating” ordeal.
“When we started filming again and getting up and running, you know obviously Kim was around because we all practically live together on the street,” she said to DeGeneres. “And we started filming and what was coming out of that was very therapeutic for her, I think. To just explain to us and walk us through.”
“She just thinks that it might bring some awareness,” Jenner went on to say. “You know, it’s changed the way we live our lives and just the way we take care of our kids and our grandchildren. So it’s been a process.”
Return to the Spotlight
In months after Kim had returned to the U.S. after the robbery, she made sure to keep a very low profile. She limited public appearances, only returning online on social media gradually early this year.
