How a $3 million bra, Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga rocked Paris at the Victoria’s Secret show

It’s always one of the most eagerly anticipated catwalk shows of the year, as fans of fashion and beautiful women wait to see who the Victoria’s Secret models are, what they will be wearing and who will be performing.

And, this year’s Victoria’s Secret show certainly didn’t disappoint. Among the highlights was a bra worth a staggering $3 million, which was modelled by Jasmine Tookes. There were performances by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars.

The catwalk event was held in the stunning setting of the Paris’ Grand Palais and opened with a string orchestra. Red neon lights heralded the start of the show as Swedish model Elsa Hosk started the show in a cropped bustier. She was followed by model-of-the-moment Kendall Jenner, who wore red thigh-high boots and suede angel wings.

Gigi Hadid, girlfriend of former One Direction member Zayn Malik, was given a cape to wear with an Aztec pattern. However, the honour of wearing the fantasy bra this year went to Ms Tookes. The bra is styled annually by a world renowned jeweller. This time, it featured 450 carats of emerald and diamonds. Made by  Eddie Borgo, 9,000 precious stones were needed to make the bra, which took 700 hours to create.

Ms Tookes said she burst into tears when she found out she was going to wear the fantasy bra. She said:“Growing up I watched all the Victoria’s Secret fashion shows and I looked up to Adriana (Lima), Tyra (Banks) and Heidi (Klum), so it was an amazing moment when I was chosen to wear that bra.”

Music came from Lady Gaga, who sang Million Reasons as the models strutted their stuff, while Bruno Mars sang 24K Magic. The show is one of the most watched on the globe and it expected to be broadcast to around 800 million people across 190 countries all over the world within the next few weeks.
