As his lawyer fights against a defamation lawsuit that was filed by seven women, Bill Cosby has reason to believe that he will be cleared of his criminal sexual assault charges. Now, Cosby’s attorney, Angela Agrusa doesn’t want the judge to release documents on the television star’s personal financial information and his contract negotiations. In order to get the information release, the women claim that Cosby will have nothing to lose by releasing his personal information, because he will no longer be in show business.
But, Agrusa argues the statement and calls the claim “baseless”. In a written response, Argrusa went on to say, “When Mr. cosby is cleared from all liability and charges, he expects to resume his career, and there is no reson to believe otherwise. But disclosure of this type of financial and business information is irreversible. Even after his name is cleared, if released to the ublic, this information would improperly restrain his employment and tie his hands for renegotiation.”
Since 2014, there have been approximately 50 different women come forward with claims of Cosby forcing unwanted sexual acts on the women, decades ago. At the age of 79, Cosby continues to face charges that have been filed by women throughout the country. The women are claiming that they were defamed, when Cosby labelled them as being liars, through statements that were released by his attorneys. The star has been married for decades, and he continues to deny all charges filed against him.
