Beyonce had great news on Thursday, followed by terrible news for her fans who hoped to see her at the 2017 Coachella festival.
Beyonce released a statement saying that she will not be preforming at Coachella this year, which she said came as a decision after her doctor told her it would put stress on her body and the baby.
The “Single Ladies” singer, 35 years old, just announced she is pregnant with a set of twins.
The news hit the “Beyhive” very hard, who immediately took to Twitter and social media in general to vent their anger at the announcement. They demanded refunds for their festival tickets, which features hit artists such as Lorde, Future, Radiohead and others.
“I spent regular price last year for my Coachella ticket & this year I had to spend $200 more just to make sure I had one for Bey,” a fan complained on Twitter.
“Beyonce isn’t performing at Coachella anymore… Suddenly I made a craigslist account,” a different fan posted.
Unfortunately for fans of Beyonce, the website for Coachella’s festival states: “This ticket is not subject to any refund, bears no cash value, and is not redeemable for cash. Artist and set times are subject to change without notice.”
Ticket Sales Dropping
Fans weren’t the only people to be hurt by Beyonce’s lack of performance: sales for tickets dropped 12% after the announcement, according to Hollywood Reporter.
Otherwise, fans may look to a new place to find out more about the “Lemonade” singer- Snapchat.
Beyonce posted an adorable photo with her daughter Blue Ivy on Instagram the other day using Snapchats famous deer filter, leaving fans in a frenzy attempting to find her discreet handle on the photo and video sharing app.
