Donald Trump Golfing In Florida Yet Again

The trip comes following meeting with Chinese president Xi Jinping, who, since 2011, has closed one in six golf courses in China.

Since becoming President 11 weeks ago, Donald Trump spends another yet another weekend at one of his own luxury resorts, he is currently taking his 15th golf trip.

A decadent and corrupt sport:

Trump has just finished an important summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The Chinese president doesn’t play the sport that has a reputation as decadent and corrupt in China, he has closed roughly a sixth of his country’s golf courses since 2011.

The White House press pool was informed that after President Xi left the President’s luxury Mar-a-Lago resort on Friday night, Trump headed to his International Golf Club in Florida on Saturday morning.

Last year, Trump referred to a string of his golf clubs during a campaign rally, and claimed: “You know what – and I love golf – but if I were in the White House, I don’t think I’d ever see Turnberry again, I don’t think I’d ever see Doral again, I own Doral in Miami, I don’t think I’d ever see many of the places that I have. I don’t ever think that I’d see anything, I just wanna stay in the White House and work my ass off, make great deals, right? Who’s gonna leave? I mean, who’s gonna leave?”

Campaign promises:

But he is now back to the golf course for the 15th time since 20 January, this weekend also marks the 10th weekend in a row Trump has spent at one of his own properties.

Trump is on his way to outspend Barack Obama. He is poised to spend more in a year than Obama the $97 million spent in eight years in office.

SO far, Trump has amassed $23 million in travel bills, around 10 times the rate of his predecessor.

Before being elected into office, Trump criticized former President Obama for playing golf rather than focusing on his presidential duties.

In a 2014 tirade, he wrote: “Can you believe that, with all of the problems and difficulties facing the U.S., President Obama spent the day playing golf.”

Similarly, Fox News pundit and staunch Trump backer Sean Hannity wrote back in 2013: “Glad our arrogant Pres is enjoying his taxpayer funded golf outing after announcing the US should take military action against Syria.”

The tweet is being re-circulated on social media after Trump’s cruise missile attack against a Syrian air base.
